Started in Romania as drive to persuade woman to donate their hair for the use of wigs. The Brave Cut or Brave Haircut was to show that you can donate half your hair and still look cool and hip. Petty quickly the campaign went viral with over 2600 woman donating their ponytails.
The haircut has been designed in such a way that it will suit anyone. Its distinctive style also means that anyone wearing it will be instantly recognised as supporting Cancer without having to wear the shaved head traditionally associated with cancer awareness drives
Inspired by this Simon Clark Hairdressing have decided to launch the campaign in Port Elizabeth. In the spirit of keeping things local we are busy negotiating with a South African wig manufacturer to see if we can arrange for the ponytails we collect to be used to make wigs for Port Elizabeth Cancer patients. We will be keeping you updated on this as things progress.
In the mean time we are happy to offer anybody who wants to try the brave cut or just donate their ponytail a free wash, cut and blow dry. All you have to do is click o the book now option and select the “Brave Cut” Option on our online booking
